Bright Control Pro 70 Watt
The Bright Control PRO is an electronic ballast designed for optimal use of the Bright Sun UV lamps.
An electronic ballast should be preferred over an electromagnetic ballast as it is more efficient and increases the lamp life. It ensures a smoother operation and increases the effectiveness of the lamp. The spectrum of metal halide lamps will stay fairly constant during its life cycle when using electronic ballasts. Metal halide lamps that are used with an electromagnetic ballasts normally show significant changes in their spectrum especially at there end of life. Only an electronic ballasts like the Bright Control PRO can ensure the best light quality.
In addition the Bright Control PRO will automatically shut off broken or not igniting lamps for safety reasons.
For the Bright Sun UV lamp we recommend the use of the electronic Bright Control PRO over the conventional Bright Control gear box to ensure best possible operation. Apart from the technical advantages it also is much smaller.
The higher aquisition costs are quickly redeemed through a lower energy consumption and longer lamp life.

Q: What is the Bright Sun?A: The Bright Sun is a metal halode lamp and currently resembles the most modern technology for UV lamps. Metal halide lamps need a special ballast for operation but are extremely enery efficient. The lighting characteristics of metal halides are close to natural sunlight. The Bright Sun offers UV and heat radiation and excels with a high light output which is 5 times higher than self ballasted mercury vapour lamps. This makes the Bright Sun the first lamp which truly can satisfy all reptile lightings needs in one lamp.
Bright Control PRO makes a high noise
Q: The ballast makes a very high, constant sound. Is this normal?A: In general electronic ballasts for HID lamps emit a high frequency noise which some humans consider distrurbing. Should the noise be very loud, it can be due to an external interference, e.g. by another ballast. In addition you should check the cable connections: connectors on both sides (including cable positioning inside the connectro) as well as the cable connection at the ballast and the lampholder. The lamp must be screwed in properly. Bad contacts can increase the noise significantly.
