Terms


General terms and conditions combined with important customer information (as of 23.5.2011)

1. Shipment
Orders are accepted 24-hours-a-day through the e-shop. No orders are accepted by phone due to misunderstandings or abuse.
 

1.1 For all orders you will be invoiced via PDF, which will be sent as an email for confirmation. You need to print the invoice yourself if required.

 
1.2 Delivery takes place every Monday and Wednesday. Orders have to arrive by 13:00 at the latest and need to be demonstrably paid in advance. Desired shipping dates cannot be considered due to the large number of orders. The orders will be continually sent according to ordering and payment receipt.  
 

1.3 All packages with insects and accessories are sent by A-post.

 
1.4 Please note that larger quantities of food insects need to be ordered and paid until Wednesday 18:00 in order to be extradited in the following week.
 

1.5 If there is an order size or insect sort not available, we evade, without prompting you, to the next smaller size or a similar replacement item in accordance with the respective product description. 

1.6 We send the food animals in the most fresh and best quality. If package arrives externally damaged, please report it to the post office, so that they bear expenses caused by the damage. For damages caused by heat or cold, we assume no liability. Packages will be shipped throughout the whole year, as ordered, even during days of extreme temperatures. Therefore, we recommend the additional articles polystyrene box in the cold time. Should the post leave the parcels out in the sun or cold, we assume, as well as the post, no liability. 

2. Consignment by subscription:
Subscription food insects regularly delivered home? For further information, please refer to the heading “food insects” in the e-shop. 

3. Postal charges: 

Feed insects & Accessories up to 99cm length:

  • up to CHF 20.00 value of goods = CHF 15.00
  • as of CHF 20.00 value of goods = CHF 10.00
  • as of CHF 50.00 value of goods = CHF 5.00
  • as of CHF 100.00 value of goods = free of shipping costs

  • Bulky goods more than 100 cm up to 250 cm or more than 60x60cm CHF 25.--
  • Frozen food sweeping CHF 45.-- incl. thermobox with depot and ice bag 
4.1 In the e-shop, the bill is to be paid by prepayment (Netbanking, Yellownet or with a deposit slip) to our bank or postal account. The account details will be communicated after receipt of order.

Other payment methods in e-shop are:

  • Postcard with 3% discount
  • PostFinance e-Finance (Yellownet) with 3% discount
  • Visa and MasterCard with 3% discount
4.2 In the store we accept cash, postal card, Maestro (EC), MasterCard, Visa, Diners Card, American Express and V-Pay.
 
4.3 If an e-shop customer should cancel the purchase of his order, we are going to charge CHF 5.— as service fee due to the costs evolving for the reimbursement of the paid amount.

5. General:
In regards to insects there may be variations in the number of pieces. Most insects are packaged according to weight, so it may be that it is sometimes more or less, insofar the size varies. If, for example, the small- or medium-sized crickets are smaller than usual, there are more than usual or vice versa if they are larger. The weight is always the same. All weights or amounts are approximate details.

 

6. Right of restoration or exchange:
The restoration of accessories is only possible with the original receipt and original packaging within 10 days after delivery.


Bulbs, heat reflectors, fluorescent lamps, books, glass terrarium, food and food animals cannot be exchanged or brought back! These items must be checked before purchase, whether for example the size or wattage fits.

Articles, which are in e-shop highlighted with "Only in order" and are only being ordered from our suppliers after receipt of payment, are excluded from the right of restoration and exchange as well as products, which were purchased on a price action. Naturally, the warranty is also assured for those products.

 
7. Warranty in regards to accessories:
Warranty on goods such as nebulizers, rain and other electronic equipment devices have a guarantee of one to two years from the manufacturer. Further details are found in the respective product description or just simply ask us. If a product should become technical failures or no longer works within the warranty period, we need to send this product to our suppliers to verify or repair the damage. This usually takes about three weeks, whereas after that this product will be immediately sent back. Replacement equipment for the time being cannot be delivered at this stage.

Since bulbs (bulbs, HQI spotlights, etc.) are considered as expendable items, we cannot guarantee these articles a warranty. (except Bright Sun)
 
Without original receipt no warranty!

7.1 Warranty for live animals:
Reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates are to be seen as used objects and cannot be returned or exchanged. The company Reptile-food.ch GmbH sells only animals which are healthy to the best of our knowledge. For internal parasites, bacteria and other diseases which cannot be seen by the eye we obviously cannot assume liability. Regeneration tails and scars are not diseases. It can happen that an animal after its acquisition dies due to heart attack or else as a result of stress during transportation and due to converting to a new terrarium, whereas we kindly ask you herewith to contact us immediately. If the animal should die caused by self-fault during or after transportation, for example, in winter or summer, because the animal was transported without polystyrene box, we assume no liability.
 
7.2 Guarantee of animal’s gender:
We give no 100% guarantee for gender provisions. For all animals, we determine the sex to the best of our knowledge. Should we nevertheless have made a mistake, the animals cannot be exchanged. Unfortunately, until today there is no method to determine a 100% the gender for all reptiles and amphibians.
 
8. Retention of title:
The goods are until to the full payment ownership of the firm Reptile-food.ch ® GmbH
 
9. Amendments to general terms conditions (GTC’s) prices and product range
The prices, the range of products and the GTC’s may at any time be amended without notice from us. For orders in the e-shop, the prices apply as of the conclusion of agreement while ordering. Print errors and obvious errors in price lists, special offers, confirmation letters and within the e-shop do not entitle to any claims.
 
10. Purchase of animals and reservations:
Animals are usually only bought by against a voucher. A cash payment is only possible if we get a clean receipt.
 
Reservations of accessories, terrariums and animals can only be made against deposit. The deposit is not refundable if you cancel the reservation. Animals can at the maximum be reserved for one week. Any additional costs (food, etc.) caused by delayed collection of animals must be taken over by customers. The prices for animals in the e-shop and in the store can at any time be amended due to maintenance costs. However, through a deposit the price is at least guaranteed for one week.
 
11. Trademark and copyright notice
Reptile Food is a registered trademark. Any unauthorized use of our logo or our name is prosecuted by our trademark attorney.
 
Our pictures and text are subject to copyright. The use requires our written permission and can be at any time revoked.

Use of our imagery and texts on e-Bay, Ricardo and other auction platforms is not allowed and will be punished.
